Padosori gil & Night Tour (Gyeong-Ju)

Padosori(Sound of wave) Path(1,7km), You can witness diverse types of formations grouped and clustered along 1.7km of shoreline. See lines of elaborate stone columns over 10 meters high, evoking the columns of ancient Greek temples; horizontal columnar joints that resemble stacks of timber; and other mysterious formations resembling the crater lake atop Mt. Baekdu, a woman’s pleated skirt, an open fan, and flower buds.

Gyeongju Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond was the secondary palace site which was used by the crown prince of the Silla Kingdom. It also served as a banquet site for important national events and important visitors. In the 1980s, a pottery fragment with letters “Wolji” (a pond that reflects the moon) carved onto it was found, revealing the true name of the pond.

According to records, Woljeonggyo was originally built during the 19th year reign of King Gyeongdeok, the 35th King of Silla. However, it was destroyed and what was left was just the stonework of the original bridge. After the bridge was re-constructed into what it looks like now. Woljeong Bridge is most attractive in the evening when the colorful lights are turned on.
