DaeWangAm Park & Whale Village (Ulsan)

Daewangam Park is a seaside park located on the east coast. A 1-km trail leads to the seashore after passing through a forest of pine, cherry trees. The seaside is littered with weathered rocks carved into interesting shapes by the wind and ocean. The park is also home to Daewangam Island, a large rock island that looks like a dragon rising up into the sky. It is connected to the mainland with an iron bridge and has an observation tower.

No luck on a whale cruise? Take a short walk along the Jansaengpo port, and you can find the country’s first and only whale museum. Opened in 2005, the jangsaengpo whael museum stands on what used to ne the center of the korean whaling industry. A whaling ship, which was in commission until 1986, now sits in front of the museum, allowing visitors to feel as if they were on board to catch a whale.
