I-cheon has been a center of ceramics and pottery ever since the Bronze Age. In 2010, it was designated as a “City of Crafts and Folk Art," part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. This Festival can see a wide range of some of the finest ceramic art in the world, such as celadon porcelain, or cheongja, white porcelain, or baekja, and grayish-blue powdered celadon, or buncheong sagi.

The festival is also Korea's largest ceramics and pottery festival. You can make pottery and also have an opportunity for some shopping. You can also make your own awesome pottery (additional fee).
